Leaf length (cm) increases at each time-step by the plant elongation rate (PER). Its value is limited by a maximum threshold, determined by a quadratic equation as a function of the leaf position on the tiller:
where LMAXi (cm) is the maximum leaf length the i-th leaf, LEAFi is the id code of the i-th leaf (with the oldest leaf as i=1), and LMAX_CF(1, 2, 3) (cm) are ecotype parameters. The absolute maximum leaf length is limited to a ecotype parameter value (MAXLFLENGTH, cm) for leaves emitted after the 15th one.
