Sporulation efficiency

Parent Previous Next

The sporulation efficiency is computed as a function of hourly air temperature and air relative humidity.

The temperature response function (f(t), 0-1) is reported below (Yan and Hunt, 1993).

where is the hourly air temperature (°C), Tmin, Tmax and Topt are the minimum, maximum and optimum temperature for the sporulation process (°C).

This function is computed when air relative humidity is above a pathogen-specific threshold (RHt, %), which represents the lower moisture requirement for the sporulation process.

where Spoeff is the sporulation efficiency (0-1) and RH is hourly air relative humidity (%).
