The sporulation efficiency is computed as a function of hourly air temperature and air relative humidity.
The temperature response function (f(t), 0-1) is reported below (Yan and Hunt, 1993).
where T is the hourly air temperature (°C), Tmin, Tmax and Topt are the minimum, maximum and optimum temperature for the sporulation process (°C).
This function is computed when air relative humidity is above a pathogen-specific threshold (RHt, %), which represents the lower moisture requirement for the sporulation process.
where Spoeff is the sporulation efficiency (0-1) and RH is hourly air relative humidity (%).
