An accessory criterion, that accounts for the fact that farmers’ behavior can have the tendency to aggregate crops within the same production district, has also been developed. Based on the user’s needs, this District criterion can be coupled (or not) to all the others.

The criterion is based on the following rules (computation on the cell a):

• If the percentage of neighboring cells where the same crop is present is higher than a user’s specified threshold, then it increases the crop presence percentage of the cell a by a user specified relative value;
• If the percentage of neighboring cells where the same crop is present is lower than a user’s specified threshold, then it decreases the crop presence percentage of the cell a by a user specified relative value;
• Otherwise, it does not modify the crop presence percentage for the cell a.

The flow-chart below displays the functioning of the District criterion.

An example of the outputs of this criterion is showed in Figure 1.
