The stem failure moment can be calculated from the standard formula of structural analysis for a cylinder:

where t is the stem's wall thickness, a the external radius of the stem base and s = 40 MPa, the failure yield stress of the stem material.

As these values of need to be specific, the user may estimate them on the basis of more common information.
