Dry weight of storage organs can be calculated using partitioning factors to roots and storage organs (see topic Partitioning factors) and total biomass rate (see topic Total biomass rate).

It results from the equation:



where Bsto is daily rate of dry weight of storage organs (Kg ha-1 d-1), Btot is the total biomass rate of the crop (Kg ha-1 d-1) and Psto is partitioning factor of storage organs (unitless).
