Degradation due to rainfall

Parent Previous Next

The AgroManagementDisease component simulates the decay of the chemical treatment after the application as a function of daily average air temperature and precipitation. (see also topic 'Degradation due to temperature').

The effect of rainfall on the degradation of each active principle in the mixture (DegR, 0-1)  is simulated following the approach developed by Patterson and Nokes (2000) via the equation:

where R is daily rainfall (mm), and a is an empirical parameter related to the sensitivity of the fungicide to the degradation as a function of precipitation.

Degradation of the fungicide as a function of increasing daily rainfall.

The functions obtained using different sensitivity to rainfall (a parameter) are plotted
