Degradation due to temperature

Parent Previous Next

The AgroManagementDisease component simulates the decay of the chemical treatment after the application as a function of daily average air temperature and precipitation. (see also topic 'Degradation due to rainfall').

The effect of air temperature on the degradation of each active principle (DegT, 0-1) in the mixture is simulated following the approach developed by Patterson and Nokes (2000):

where Tavg is daily average air temperature (°C), Tth is the air temperature threshold below which there is not degradation and b is an empirical parameter (unitless).

Degradation of the fungicide as a function of increasing daily average air temperature.

The threshold of temperature for degradation is set to 16°C and the functions obtained

using different sensitivity to temperature are plotted
