Total photosynthetic area

For obtaining the total photosynthetic areas, the contribution of leaves (see topic Leaf area expansion and Leaves photosynthetic area), stems (see topic Stem photosynthetic area) and pods (see topic Pod photosynthetic area) has to be considered:

where Phtot,s is daily state of total photosynthetic area at time step s, GLAIs is daily state of green leaf area index at time step s (m2 m-2), Phstems is daily state of stem photosynthetic area at time step s (m2 m-2) and Phpods is daily state of pods photosynthetic area at time step s (m2 m-2)
